Beijing: After suffering a slump in 2010, China's online game market recovered last year, with total sales of computer and mobile online games reaching 46.9 billion yuan (around $7 billion), the government said.
According to an annual industry report released by the ministry of culture, the sales grew 34 per cent year-on-year, the People's Daily reported.
The number of computer online game users in the country rose 33 per cent year-on-year to over 160 million in 2011.
The number of mobile online game users rose by 46 per cent to over 50 million.

The mobile online game market grew over 51 per cent from 2010 to reach 3.9 billion yuan (around $635 million).
Exports of homemade games reached $403 million, up 76 per cent from 2010.
