26 GOAL! Stoke 0-1 Wolves!
25 Stoke look really dangerous when the ball is played high into the Wolves defence, although this time Walters' flick on is too heavy and the ball bounces out for a goal-kick.
23 How are Stoke not ahead? Wilson does brilliantly out wide before curling the ball in for Crouch, who nods down for Walters, but instead of using his foot the striker tries to get his head on the ball, but he can only direct his effort agonisingly wide of the gaping net.
22 The resulting set piece is whipped into a really good area, but it evades a crowd of bodies before bouncing inside the area and out for a goal-kick.
21 Best move of the game from Stoke now as Etherington is played down the win before putting a really dangerous ball into the area, but Crouch's run is well checked and the defence can clear for a corner.
19 Wolves are starting to find themselves under more and more pressure at the back, and they're not helping themselves by hoofing the ball clear every time it comes into their defensive third.
18 Peter Crouch tries to pick out the run of Jermaine Pennant with a flicked on header, but the ball zips off the turf and the winger is unable to keep it in play.
16 Micahel Clutton says: Results have gone well for Wolves today so they can give themselves a lifeline here. I am concerned though about the appointment of Mark Halsey as referee. He has a known allegiance to Bolton, one of Wolves relegation rivals - so I hope there is no controversy. Praying for a Wolves win here.
14 Stoke may have Rory Delap on the bench, but Ryan Shotton is more than capable of taking a very long throw-in, but this time he delivers the ball straight to the hands of the keeper who duly plucks the danger out the air.
13 Much better from the visitors in the last one or two minutes as they show some attacking intent, but so far their finishing remains off as Jarvis lashes a shot wide.
12 Stephen Ward gets sight of goal and unleashes from 20-yards out, but his effort just doesn't have enough dip on it and Begovic can watch the ball sail harmlessly over.
10 Wolves have really struggled to find a foothold in the opening 10 minutes, and they've been made to mostly defend the ball deep in their own half. They do eventually get get the ball forward to the strikers, but some sharp defending from the hosts sees any potential attack quickly peter out.
8 Stokie-Anne writes: Two falls, two submissions or a knockout - oh sorry, wrong sport - no wait! More like two pieces of class from Ethers and Crouchy to take us over 40 points to safety. Cheers
7 Walters tries his luck from a good 30-yards out, but he gets it all wrong and blazes well wide of the mark.
6 Glenn Whelan goes in on Ronald Zubar pretty rashly, but the referee saw nothing wrong with the challenge as the player had won the ball. Zubar stays on the ground, only to protest his case, but play continues and he's forced to pick himself up off the turf.
5 The Potters are looking the more lively of the two sides, and Peter Crouch almost picks out Matthew Etherington with a delightful cross-field ball, but he can't get enough on his pass and the defence are able to cut out the danger.
3 Stoke work the first opening of the game as a long ball is flicked on to Jon Walters, but he can only win a corner. The resulting set piece is floated to the far post where Walters feels he is penalised, but the referee is not interested and waves play on
1 The referee blows his whistle and Saturday's late Premier League encounter is under way!
The players have already got the pre-match formalities out of the way, and we're just moments away from the kick-off.
Edd Erwin has something to say, and writes: Hi Ryan,ex Potter Edd Irwin here from Durban,South Africa. I'm going for a win for the Potters 2-1 with Crouch and Walters getting goals.Walters is due and I think he'll be on the ball today.
Less than 10 minutes away from the kick off and the players are lining up in the tunnel. Mark Halsey is the man in the middle today, and with so much at stake, something tells me he's going to be in for a busy day at the office.
We've got our first caller! Pete, you're on the line: stoke need a bit of luck, goals shouldnt be a problem against the poor wolves defence, but recently they have conceded too many themselves, stoke to win 2-1 with crouch&huth scoring, reply from jarvis!
So, full-time whistles have just blown all across England as the five 1500 BST kick offs come to an end, and Wolves will be infinitely buoyed by the news fellow strugglers Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn all suffered defeat against their respective opponents.
So, Stoke make just one change to the side that lost 2-0 at Wigan last time out, with Ryan Shotton coming in for the injured Andy Wilkinson in defence. Wolves, meanwhile, bring in Ronald Zubar and Karl Hendry for Roger Johnson and David Davis respectively.
Stoke: Begovic, Shotton, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson, Pennant, Whelan, Whitehead, Etherington, Crouch, Walters Subs: Sorensen, Jones, Fuller, Upson, Delap, Jerome, Palacios
Wolverhampton: Hennessey, Stearman, Zubar, Bassong, Ward, Kightly, Henry, Edwards, Jarvis, Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher Subs: De Vries, Johnson, Berra, Milijas, Davis, Doyle, Forde
As promised, the teams...
The team sheets have just come across my desk, but before we look at those why not first get involved by emailing any and all thoughts or predictions to ryan.gordon@teamtalkmedia.com.
It all appears a pretty tall order for Wolves, and our friends at Sky Bet have put the visitors at 9/2 to snatch all three points, while Stoke are 8/13 favourites for a win today.
Several rungs down the league ladder we find a Wolves side that have scraped together just one victory in their last 17 league encounters, and are, unsurprisingly, glued to the foot of the table. March marked a particularly horrific month for Terry Connor's men, who lost all five of their matches, conceding a whopping 15 goals. However, the Molineux outfit have no time to feel sorry for themselves, with the side needing to garner as many wins as they can from their last seven matches to have any chance of retaining their top-flight status.
Still, City currently occupy 13th in the standings and are 10 points above the relegation zone with seven matches to go, leaving the Potters faithful not overly concerned about being sucked into a battle for survival just yet.
Stoke have enjoyed a highly successful season so far, with Tony Pulis' men holding their own in the Europa League, while also making it to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Their Premier League form, however, has taken a severe dip in recent weeks, with their last victory coming at the beginning of March.
