41 Kata is penalised for a foul and CSKA have a free kick on the halfway line, but opt to play it short and then giveaway possession.

40 More patient build up by the hosts with Ronaldo popping up down the right, but again Higuain is caught offside ... you would think he's going to time it right at some point during the game.

39 Great run by Ozil sees him go past three defenders and somehow keep the ball in before he overhits the cross after doing all the hard work.

Yellow Card38 The referee ponders for a few seconds before deciding to book Musa.

37 Alonso picks out Marcelo again and this time he is brought down by Musa.

36 Alonso plays a great diagonal ball to Marcelo in the box and with CSKA wanting offside, he stumbles and the ball goes out for a goalkick with Higuain unmarked in the middle.

35 The CSKA corner is cleared by Pepe but a definite warning for the hosts though.

34 Doumbia spins well on the box and the ball drops to Musa whose first-time shot is parried by Iker Casillas.

33 The hosts are now well on top and CSKa must get to half-time without conceding another, otherwise you fear the tie is over.

32 Alonso takes the free kick but it sails high over the CSKA bar.

Yellow Card31 Yellow is the outcome for Berezutski after the referee consults his assistant.

30 Madrid counter through Ronaldo who is brought down by Berezutski - was he the last man?

29 Former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa brings down Tosic 30 yards out but the free kick is hit into the wall.

28 Marcelo goes down in the area, but it's very dramatic and despite the appeals play is waved on.

27 Ronaldo might need a change of boots soon as he keeps slipping over ...

26 Massive task facing CSKA but they have shown enough to suggest they are capable of getting a goal.

Goal25 GOAL! Ozil finds Kaka who gets his delivery right this time and plays a low ball to Higuain to taps in from close range.

24 Good spell of pressure by the hosts sees Kaka try to pull the ball back when he might have been better shooting.

23 Ronaldo sets Ozil free down the Real left, but his cross is cut out as Kaka was about to latch onto it inside the box.

22 The impressive Musa delivers a low cross but Ramos is on hand to clear the danger.

21 Kaka and Higuain try to play a one-two 30 yards out, but Ignashevic makes a solid tackle to break it up.

20 Chepchugov races off his line to save at the feet of Higuain who had got on the end of Alonso's pass.

19 CSKA are dogged in their defensive duties and Ozil trips Musa as he tries to busrt forward which relieves some of the pressure that had been building.

18 So far a very even contest and even though we've had few clear-cut chances it's a good game to watch.

17 Ronaldo makes a jinking run and pulls the ball back across the six yard box. Zoran Tosic clears but only as far as Kaka who drives wide from 15 yards.

Yellow Card16 CSKA keeper Chepchugov is booked for apparently time wasting.

15 Mercelo's low cross is half cleared and drops to Alonso on the edge of the box and his shot is deflected and loops up over the bar for a corner which is cleared.

14 Ozil goes down in the box under the challenge of Sergei Ignashevich, but the referee waves aside strong penalty appeals.

13 There are surprisingly plenty of empty seats in the stadium, but a great atmosphere with plenty of CSKA fans present.

12 CSKA counter through Musa who goes down the right and puts over a low cross than skids across the face of goal with no one able to apply a touch.

11 Strong run by Kaka sees him ghost to the edge of the CSKA box but Vasili Berezutski blocks him off.

10 Sergio Ramos gets a stern lecture from the referee after a tackle from the back on Dzagoev - no card though.

9 The hosts respond as Ronaldo works a shooting chance but his low effort is saved at the near post by keeper Sergei Chepchugov.

8 CSKA should have taken the lead as Seydou Doumbia - who has scored 21 goals in his last 20 games - meets a pass from Ahmed Musa first time, but fires over from 12 yards.

7 Alonso puts a clever ball over the top of the CSKA defence, but Higuain is again caught offside.

6 Higuain is caught offside and it's certainly not been the fast start many thought from Madrid.

5 More patient build up from the hosts but Alonso's pass for Ozil is too strong and it goes out for a throw.

4 Pepe makes a vital interception as Evgeni Aldonin tries to thread the ball through to Alan Dzagoev.

3 Kaka is fouled and the hosts have a fre-kick but Xabi Alonso's delivery is poor and CSKA clear.

2 Mesut Ozil is closed down and he is perfectly happy to send the ball back to Pepe and Madrid start again from the back.

1 CSKA get us under way and it's only seconds before the hosts win possession - it's likely they will have the majority of that tonight.

Feedback "It is going to be a hell of a cracking match and one of the most interesting CL matches this season. Couple of goals both ends plus red cards as both teams are looking forward to progressing to the semis, so it is ought to be a bit rough. I would go for CSKA Moscow to qualify and good luck to Real Madrid," says Farah.

Feedback Ross Taylor says: "With the form Real Madrid are inthen tonight should be an easy game, Ronaldo is destined to score, especially in front of the Santiago crowd. Good luck to CSKA though, I hope to witness another spectacle this evening. And as always, Hala Madrid!"

Feedback "We have got acclimatised to hitting the 7 goals mark in the champion's league. I would go for a bizarre 7-1 win to Madrid, with Ronald netting four," says Samson from Oslo.

The teams are here and are as follows - Real Madrid: Casillas, Arbeloa, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Khedira, Alonso, Ozil, Kaka, Ronaldo, Higuain. Subs: Adan, Sahin, Benzema, Granero, Albiol, Varane, Diarra. CSKA Moscow: Chepchugov, Alexei Berezutsky, Vasili Berezutsky, Ignashevich, Shchennikov, Musa, Wernbloom, Aldonin, Tosic, Dzagoev, Doumbia. Subs: Revyakin, Semberas, Nababkin, Mamaev, Cauna, Oliseh, Necid. Referee: Stephane Lannoy (France)

Sky Bet Our colleagues at Sky Bet make Real Madrid 1/10 to win the match in 90 minutes, with the draw 9/1 and CSKA 20/1. Ronaldo is 6/4 to score the first goal, with Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema both on offer at 11/4.

Good evening and welcome to one of the most famous football stadiums in the world, the Santiago Bernabeu, for coverage of the Champions League clash between Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow. The tie is delicately poised following a 1-1 draw in the Russian capital, Pontus Wernbloom's stoppage-time goal cancelling out Cristiano Ronaldo's first-half effort. However, it appears to be a daunting task for CSKA with the La Liga leaders having won 17 of 19 home games this season. Line-ups to follow and, as always, we welcome your comments so send them to simon.crawford@bskyb.com and I'll publish the best ones.
